Tech firm announces 300 new jobs for Dublin

Some 300 new jobs are on the way for Dublin.

Technology company Zendesk is expanding its business, with the positions being rolled out over the next three years.

The new roles will be primarily in engineering.

The firm, which was set up a decade ago in Copenhagen, provides software for customer services.

It enables organisations to offer service across multiple channels - from their website, e-mail and phone to Facebook, Twitter and chat.

It already employs more than 200 people in the capital, having been here since 2012.

The company also opened a dedicated data centre in Dublin back in 2013.

Zendesk has more than 7,500 customers in Europe - including Just Giving, GOV.UK, L’Oreal and Glasgow NHS.

The company's vice-president of product development, Colum Twomey, spoke with Breakfast Business.

He says the firm has just signed a new lease for a brand new 58,000 square foot office space.
