An unidentified soldier has died after being found unconscious and injured in the mid-Wales town of Brecon.
The soldier was not in uniform at the time of his death and initial reports say that his death is not related to any terrorist activity.
Police say the man was discovered at around 1am on Sunday morning and was transferred to hospital where he later died. His death is being treated as 'unexplained.'
He was found on a street situated some 400 yards from a nearby barracks. A large area of the town centre has been cordoned off as they investigate the incident.
An Army spokesman said:
"We are aware of an incident involving the death of a soldier in Brecon. Dyfed-Powys Police are investigating and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."
