A Scottish man has died after apparently trying to take a selfie on a German motorway.
The incident happened at around midday on Sunday, on the A24 Autobahn at Gudow.
Three Scottish men are reported to have travelled to the town from Hamburg.
Witnesses told police the three men were seen 'taking cell phone pictures of themselves' on the road.
Police from the nearby city of Lubeck said that one of the Scottish men - a 22-year-old - was hit by a car after a 73-year-old driver was unable to 'evade' in time.
The young man is said to have died at the scene.
Police said the British men may have been drinking prior to the incident, and the other two men - who were aged 21 and 22 - were in the care of emergency services.
The driver of the car was treated and later released into the care of his family.
