There will be further spells of rain today in all areas at times.
Rain belts will clear the north this morning as another spell approaches the southwest.
It will be dry with sunny spells in between and as the rain clears - through later this afternoon there will be sunny spells developing again in the evening.
Winds will become moderate to fresh from a southerly direction and temperatures will reach between 15 and 17 degrees.
Tonight will become largely dry with clear spells but showers will affect western coastal counties.
Lowest temperatures will be between 6 and 8 degrees and winds will become mainly light to moderate southwest to south.
There is a status yellow rainfall warning for Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois and Offaly
Rainfall of between 30-40mm is expected over the next 24 hours.
The alert is in place until 1.00pm Saturday.
