Saturday's weather: Rain to ease by early afternoon

Some outbreaks of rain occurring early today, heavy for a time across parts of the midlands and west. The rain will ease by early afternoon with mostly dry weather and some sunny spells developing, just isolated showers later in the day - with eastern areas most at risk. Winds will be generally light to moderate north to northwest, but fresh along west and south coasts.

Highest temperatures 7 to 10 degrees Celsius, best values in the southeast.


Frost will set in soon after dark with mostly clear skies - just isolated showers. Later in the night wet and windy weather (with milder temperatures) will arrive into Munster, extending into most other areas before the night is out. Turning very wet along southern counties with onshore winds.

Lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees Celsius. Winds will increase fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly.

Rain is expected today Friday and overnight, but should turn more showery during Saturday morning.
25 to 35 mm are expected, with possibly higher totals on mountains. (valid until 9am this morning)
