A young woman has been killed after a single vehicle crash in Cork last night.

The incident occurred on the N20 at Clogheenmilcon last night at roughly 10.25pm.

Gardaí in Blarney are appealing for witnesses. 


A man has died following a shooting in Dublin.

Gardaí say the body of a man in his 30s was discovered with gunshot injuries at Griffeen Valley Park, Lucan.

The scene is being preserved for a technical examination and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. 


Ministers describe alleged assault at Dublin school as 'disturbing' and 'distressing'

The Education and Children's ministers have described the alleged sexual assault of a student at a Dublin school as very disturbing and distressing.

It follows a claim that a 13-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted by other pupils at King's Hospital school, Dublin.


Enda Kenny says "a stream" of British banks and financial firms have enquired about moving to Ireland.

The Taoiseach says Ireland will compete fairly but firmly to attract business here after Brexit.

A 63-year-old man who tried to kill his partner after she told him she was in love with somebody else has been jailed for nine years.

Patrick O'Rourke tried to stab Donna Foster to death at their home in Ballyvoloon in Cobh, Co Cork on the morning of August 11th last year.

O'Rourke and Ms Foster had been together for over 14 years.
