Monday's weather: Wind warning remains in place

Windy this morning and mostly cloudy with patchy rain over parts of Ulster and south Munster.

Sunny spells will develop more widely through the day and it will become generally dry.

Highest temperatures 12 to 15 degrees and the strong winds will slowly moderate this afternoon and evening.


Dry tonight with clear spells.

Rather cool with minimum temperatures 5 to 9 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds.

National weather warning

A status yellow wind warning is in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo and Clare.

On Sunday evening and night, west to southwest winds veering west to northwest will reach speeds of 55 to 65 km/hr with gusts of 80 to 90 km/hr in coastal areas of the West and North.

The warning is in place until 10:00am.
