Cool and windy today, with bright or sunny spells and occasional heavy showers, some of them prolonged in places, with a slight risk of thunder, especially in Atlantic coastal counties at first. However, showers will become more scattered later this evening.
Maximum temperatures 14 to 16 Celsius, in strong and gusty northwesterly winds, slowly easing as the day progresses.
Tonight, there will be further scattered showers, mainly in Connacht, west Ulster and west Munster, but it will be mainly dry elsewhere, with clear intervals.
Minimum temperatures 7 to 10 Celsius. Winds moderate to fresh west to northwest at first, decreasing mostly moderate west to southwest.
A status yellow wind warning for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork and Kerry is in effect until 9am.
A status yellow rainfall warning for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo remains in place until midday.
