Mobile Technologies has announced the creation of 150 new jobs in Drogheda, County Louth.

The US-based company has said the positions will come on stream at its newly-established European Contact Centre HQ over the next three years.

Mobiel Technologies is a global leader in providing mobile device display solutions.

It says it selected Ireland for its new base due to a talented, tech-savvy workforce, the attractive business environment and its membership of the EU.

Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O'Connor called the investment a significant boost to the economy of the town and wider border region, whilst IDA Ireland chief executive Martin Shanahan said it would also promote Drogheda as an ideal location for conducting international business.

Recruitment is already underway for a variety of tech-based roles.

Deadline Couriers also announced today that it would be adding 80 new jobs in Dublin.

The transport and delivery company will roll out the positions over the next two years, bringing its workforce to 120 by 2019.

The company is looking for admin and sales support staff, as well as delivery drivers, as it expands its business.
