Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Charlie Flanagan, will represent the Government at a State Commemoration ceremony to honour Lt. Thomas Michael Kettle on the centenary of his death.
A renowned Irish poet, soldier and statesman, Lt. Kettle died during the battle of the Somme on the 9th September in 1916.
The event will be held at the Thomas Kettle Memorial in St. Stephen's Green on Friday at 2pm. There will also be a photo opportunity with the Minister and photographer Mike Shiles at the Lime walk on the northern side of St. Stephen's Green, prior to the event at 1.45pm
