Dublin central TD Maureen O’Sullivan is telling middle class drug users to accept responsibility for the city's gangland problems.
The Independent TD says the same drug dealers involved in the Kinahan/Hutch gang feud are supplying customers in more affluent parts of the capital.
"I hate the word recreational drugs because it’s giving a completely different perception,” Deputy O’Sullivan said.
“The same dealer who provides the heroin and the crack cocaine and the tablets is the same dealer who is providing the so called 'socially acceptable' coke.
“It doesn't matter whether you're snorting it in a high class restaurant or hotel or shooting up in the street it's the same dealer who is making money out of your addiction."
So far seven people have died since the violence started in September last year - with four of the victims killed within a one square mile area in Dublin’s north inner city.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny is expected to visit the area early next week to meet the locals affected by the feud.
