A weather warning is in place for Ireland across this Christmas weekend.
Met Éireann say a "potentially stormy spell of weather" is likely later this week, and over the Christmas weekend.
In particular, it says Friday looks like bringing stormy weather - with the north and west most at risk.
However the forecaster says details are still uncertain at this stage.
The status yellow weather warning is in place for the entire country from Thursday December 22nd until Monday December 26th.
The forecaster says Saturday will be cold and showery at first with good sunny spells - but it will become cloudy with rain spreading eastwards later.
The rain is likely to turn heavy before clearing to scattered showers on Sunday and staying windy.
