First Lady Melania Trump hosted a ladies luncheon in the State Dining Room in honor of International Women's Day. 

At the White House, the former model welcomed about 50 women, including her daughter-in-law Ivanka Trump, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and Vice President Mike Pence's wife, Karen.

Reporters on site were pulled out of the luncheon before they were able to hear Melania Trump address attendees.

The White House also announced that there would indeed be an Easter Egg Roll this year, which will be held on Monday, April 17, as it's tradition to host the event a day after the Easter holiday.

Strike

At today's press briefing, White House press sceretary Sean Spicer said he wasn't aware of any women from the Trump administration participating in the strike called in solidarity with the day's proceedings.

"I think everyone that I'm aware of has shown up and is working really hard to advance the president's agenda," the press secretary said. "They're committed to moving this country forward."

Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi led a group of female lawmakers outside to the Capitol steps to promote the cause. 

"When women succeed, America succeeds," Pelosi said. "And when women succeed, as my colleague said, the world succeeds."
