A woman has died and a man is in a serious condition in hospital following a two-car crash in Co Meath.
The 25-year-old woman was a passenger in one of the cars involved in the collision at Blackwater Bridge in Enfield at about 9.15pm last night.
A man aged in his 20s - the driver of the car - is receiving treatment at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown for serious injuries.
While the driver of the second car, a woman in her 30s, was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar for non life-threatening injuries.
The road remains closed this morning to allow for a forensic examination of the scene.
Gardaí are asking drivers to avoid the old N4.
