A man is due to appear in court tomorrow in connection with a fatal assault in Limerick city
51-year-old Gerard Freyne was attacked on Lord Edward Street in the city at around 7.45pm on Wednesday evening.
It is believed Mr Freyne had been in an altercation with another man who fled the scene.

He died at Cork University Hospital on Friday as a result of his injuries.
A 32-year-old has been charged in connection with the investigation and is scheduled to appear before Limerick District Court tomorrow morning at 10.30am.
