A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in the legs in Co Offaly.
The incident happened shortly before 10pm last night in a field off Clara Road, on the outskirts of Tullamore.
A 21-year-old man received gunshot wounds to his legs.
It is believed the shot was fired from some distance away.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to Tullamore Hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
A second man, aged in his 20s, managed to escape uninjured.
An investigation has been launched, and searches have been carried out in the field.
There have been no arrests so far in connection with the incident.
