A man is recovering in hospital after being shot in the leg in west Dublin.

The man was attacked in the Fortlawn area of Blanchardstown at around 10:40pm last night.

He is aged in his forties and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Gardaí have said their investigation is ongoing and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
