A man is in serious condition after being stabbed in Antrim last night.

The incident happened at around 8.25pm in the Dublin Road area of the town.

An altercation is believed to have taken place between a number of people in the High Street area.

A family group were then chased onto Dublin Road by a number of people and assaulted.

A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to a stab wound to his back, and his condition is described as serious.

Detectives are appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
