A person wearing a 'Mask of Zorro' costume has also been detained by the LAPD.

Local police say they searched the airport, adding: "All precautions being taken to ensure safety of public. Remain calm."

The airport say the departures and arrivals levels of Central Terminal Area (CTA) were closed, but have now re-opened.

Passengers are also set to be re-screened.
