A man in his 20s is appearing in court this morning in connection with the death of a 13-year-old boy in an alleged hit and run in Coolock in Dublin.

Lee Henry was killed while crossing the N32 at around 9:30pm on Saturday 22nd of October 2016.

It was reported at the time that he had pushed a young girl out of the way and saved her life.

The 13-year-old was rushed to Temple Street Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Gardaí said the car involved in the collision failed to stop or remain at the scene – and was located and seized a short time later.

A man in his mid-20s was arrested in connection with the investigation.

The man is appearing before Court 4 at the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10:30am this morning.
