A man in his 30s is due in court this morning in relation to a fatal stabbing in Waterford.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, gardaí were called to New Street in the city where they discovered that a 28-year-old man had been stabbed.
He was taken to University Hospital Waterford, where he was pronounced dead.
A 35-year-old man was arrested nearby, and questioned under Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act.
He is due to appear before Waterford District Court this morning.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the New Street/John Street area between 3.00am and 4.00am to contact them.
