A man has died following a crash in Tipperary this afternoon.
The single vehicle accident happened at 3:10pm on the M8 motorway just past junction 7 southbound in the townland of Ballyknock, Cashel.
The 44-year-old man’s car collided with a concrete column and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post mortem will take place.
The road was closed to facilitate an investigation by the garda forensic team, however it has since reopened.
Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the accident to contact them.
