A man has died after being pulled from the water off the Galway coast.
The alarm was raised after a small fishing vessel was found running but empty near Oranmore yesterday afternoon.
The fisherman was found yesterday evening following a massive search operation.
The operation involved RNLI lifeboats from Galway and the Aran Islands, the Irish Coastguard helicopter and local boats.
The Aran Islands lifeboat recovered the man around a mile west of Blackrock, off Salthill.
He was rushed to University Hospital Galway, where he has since passed away.
