Gardaí in Dublin are continuing to hold a 29-year-old man in connection with the murder of Gareth Hutch.

The 35-year-old father-of-one was gunned down on North Cumberland Street in Dublin's north inner city yesterday morning.

Two gunmen are thought to have involved in attack, which is thought to be the seventh murder linked to the ongoing Hutch-Kinahan feud.

A series of raids were carried out following the shooting, and there were reports that a man in his 20s later presented himself to gardaí.

The suspect is being held at Mountjoy Garda Station under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.

A second gunman is believed to be on the run.

Independent News and Media journalist Conor Feehan said the attackers' getaway plans went wrong and that they left a lot of evidence behind.

"The gunmen tried to jump into their getaway car, which failed to start. They had to drop their guns, and they had to flee on foot," he told Newstalk Breakfast.

Separately, a man was also arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Eddie Hutch in February.

The man, who is aged in his 40s, was detained in west Dublin and is being questioned at Mountjoy Garda Station under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
