A man has been arrested following an attempted robbery in Dublin.
The incident took place on the Swords road in Santry at around 1.20pm this afternoon when a man entered a shop.
Gardaí say the man - who is alleged to have threatened staff and demanded cash - was in possession of a hammer.
A staff member was involved with an altercation with the suspect.
According to Gardaí, the man then left the shop and ran towards a car.
He allegedly assaulted the female driver, who is said to have suffered minor injuries.
The suspect was subdued by staff members and passers-by.
When Gardaí arrived, a 29-year-old man was arrested and taken to Ballymun Garda Station.
