Laois-Offaly has been separated for the first time in the history of the State.

What it has resulted in is probably the most predictable result in the election. Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin will share the three seats.

Labour’s Senator John Whelan will huff and puff but won’t blow any houses down.

Possible result is 1 FG, 1 FF, 1 SF.

Ivan’s take 13/01/2016: 1 FG, 1 FF, 1 SF - the three incumbents will hold their seats – and no Labour TD returned.
