Labour TD and former Tánaiste Joan Burton has called for a 'detailed enquiry' following a serious fire at an apartment block in Dublin yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the scene at at the Verdemont complex - off the Snugborough Rd in Blanchardstown - early yesterday evening.
Residents of dozens of apartments were evacuated, while a number of apartments received substantial damage in the blaze.
There were no reports of injuries, while Dublin Civil Defence set up a rest centre for those forced to evacuate.
Gardaí are investigating, and they say there is nothing to suggest anything suspicious led to the blaze.

In a statement, Joan Burton - who represents Dublin West - said her thoughts and sympathies are with the residents "who suffered a disastrous fire at their apartments".
Deputy Burton said: "I want to salute Dublin fire brigade and all the emergency workers and the Fingal County Council staff who worked to put out the fire and to assist residents.
"There will have to be a detailed enquiry into the fire and how it spread so quickly and destroyed and damaged so many apartments and homes. The Minister will have to initiate this as quickly as possible and review fire safety standards and their enforcement in respect of domestic dwellings."
