In the lead up to the launch of their new The Grand Tour on Amazon’s video streaming service, former Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have become the latest well-known figures to appear on Carpool Karaoke, the popular segment from James Corden’s US chat show, The Late Late Show.

The trio infamously left the BBC after Jeremy Clarkson was sacked when he drunkenly assaulted an Irish producer working on Top Gear. Shortly afterwards, Hammond and May also made the decision to leave the BBC, signing multimillion-pound contracts to create their own motoring show for international distribution on Amazon.

Not renowned for their singing voices, the trio eschewed the usual format of belting out songs while Corden drops them off somewhere, instead offering an insight into the hotly anticipated content viewers can expect in The Grand Tour. In place of pop music comes a race track, with each of the presenters quizzed by Corden and gaining an extra second on their final time for every piece of trivia they get wrong.

The Grand Tour will debut on Amazon on November 18th, with 12 episodes in its freshman run. Amazon’s video service is not available for streaming audiences in the Republic of Ireland, with no word yet on when the series can be seen here. In the meantime, you can see the Carpool Karaoke segment below:
