The forecast is looking pretty mixed for today and into the weekend, but we should see some sun in the afternoons.

Met Éireann have said today will begin cloudy with some scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the east of the country.

It will gradually brighten up through the morning with good sunny spells in the afternoon and evening and the occasional passing shower.

Temperatures will remain at similar levels to yesterday at 17 to 21 degrees.

Tonight will be mostly clear but cloud will increase later in the night, followed by outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the west.

It should also feel cooler with lowest temperatures of 11 or 12 degrees.

Weekend Outlook

Saturday will begin cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

The afternoon will be generally dry however, with good sunny spells and some passing showers.

Sunday will also start with rain, which may be heavy in parts.

This will clear eastwards during Sunday morning and the afternoon will be bright and fresh with occasional showers but also good spells of sunshine.
