Guns N’ Roses are set to reform with founding members Axl Rose and Slash to play at the Coachella Festival in California in April, it is being reported.

Negotiations are also under way with promoters for a stadium tour of North America next summer, according to Billboard.

The last show Axl Rose and Slash played together was in 1993 at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires.

Billboard reports that the band is said to be asking as much as $3m (€2.75m) per show, with tickets up to $275 (€250), and there could be up to 25 shows in football stadiums.

The act could also be among the first to play the new Las Vegas Arena, which is set to open on 6 April.

Representatives for the band could not be reached for comment but fans point to possible hints on updates to the Guns N' Roses website and Facebook page.

Guns N' Roses' debut album, Appetite For Destruction, was released in 1987 but only reached number one on the Billboard 200 a year later, on the strength of Sweet Child O' Mine, the group's only single to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
