A group representing sex workers is lobbying the Justice Minister not to criminalise the purchase of sex.

Sex Workers Alliance Ireland is launching a policy brief this afternoon focusing on what it says is a 'human rights-based approach' to supporting women in the trade.

The group is made up of current sex workers in Ireland, human rights lawyers, advocates and academics.

Legislation, which will see those who pay for sex face criminal sanctions, has been approved by the government.
