Instagram has undergone a number of transformations in the last two years or so. From a logo change to the addition of "Stories", there's no sign of the app plateauing. The company has now revealed details of yet another new feature that will change how we shop.

Instagram want users to shop, without leaving the platform. The Facebook owned company has started to show "shoppable tags" on photos from 20 retailers including Kat Spade and JackThreads to iOS users in the US.

The retailers tag the products in their photos, which are placed behind a "Tap to view products" button. Users can see in-app details such as a specific product's price, description, photos and a "shop now" button. Once selected, users are then brought to a browser page to purchase. The user can then return to their Instagram feed.
