Get more from your iPhone: Tips and tricks for iPhone users

Share your location info, mute messages and more!

If you're an iPhone owner, you want to make sure you get the most from your device; so here's some tips and tricks you may not have known about.

Mute individual messages or conversations:

This feature is very handy during working hours. It's possible to block mute certain conversations, meaning you will not receive a notification for any message they send. To enable this feature, simply open messages and click details. From there, swipe "Do Not Disturb"

Send audio messages that expire:

One of the key features of Snapchat is that the messages sent between users disappear after a certain period of time. It's possible to set an iPhone so that audio message sent will expire after two minutes, or never.

Visit Settings, Messages, then Audio Messages:

Share current location with a contact:

This is extremely useful whilst abroad or, if like me, you have no sense of direction.

To send your exact location to a contact via text simply hit Details, within Messages and tap "Send My Location"

Let your friends track you:

This may sound creepy, but this is very useful around festival season. Follow the steps above, but hit "Share My Location" rather than "Send My Location". This will allow the select contact / contacts to follow your location for a period of time of your choosing.

See where you spend most of your time:

We told you about this feature not so long ago. Again, this may seem strange, but it is possible to disable it. Follow the steps laid out here to find out how.

Grayscale mode:

Sadly, the battery life is not fantastic on most iPhones, so it's always good to have a back up plan. If you're stuck, however, it's possible to switch your display from colour to grayscale.

Visit Settings, General, Accessibility and hit Grayscale.
