Gardaí renew appeal for information on man found dead in Galway woodland in 2014

Members of the public have been asked to help identity a dead man found near Barna in Galway two years ago.

The man's body was discovered by a walker in Rusheen Woods on September 27th, 2014.

His remains are believed to been there for a number of weeks before they were recovered.

The deceased is thought to have been between 30 and 40 years old, around six feet tall, with black hair.

He was wearing a gold bracelet watch (Caravelle by Bulova), a black leather jacket, white and blue 'Athletech' runners, blue jeans and a black belt with metal flower design studs.

The man remains unidentified despite an extensive garda investigation and facial reconstruction project.
