Gardaí have arrested two men and seized cannabis herb and cash as part of ongoing operations in Dublin south city centre targeting organised criminal activity.
Cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €5,000 was seized when Gardaí stopped and searched a van in the Kevin Street area on Wednesday afternoon.
Two men aged in their 40s were arrested at the scene.
In follow up searches Gardaí located and seized €21,000 in cash at a residence also in the Kevin Street area.
The arrested men were detained at Kilmainham Garda Station. One of the men was charged in connection with the investigation and is due to appear before Dublin District Court at a later date.
The second man was released from Garda custody without charge. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The operation was led by detective and uniform Gardaí attached to Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda stations.
