Gardaí appeal for witnesses to Meath stabbing

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Meath last night.

The 21-year-old was seriously injured during an assault at Knockcommon, Beauparc in Navan at approximately 10.15pm.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where his condition is described as stable but serious.

A red Volkswagon Passat with a 00 G registration was discovered partially submerged in shallow water a short distance away.

No arrests have yet been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to any activity in the area around the scene of the crime or on the Slane Road in Drogheda near Townley Hall between 9.30pm and 11pm.
