Gardaí at Mayfield in Cork are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on the Old Youghal Rd on Saturday night.

A 19 year-old man received serious injuries and was taken to Cork University Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing to any person who was in the Old Youghal Rd vicinity between the hours 9.30pm and 10.30pm on the 10th June 2017 or to any person who can assist with this investigation to contact Mayfield Garda Station on 021-4558510, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
