Gardaí appeal for witnesses after man hit by car in south Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision early Sunday.

At approximately 12.25am, a 47-year-old male pedestrian was fatally injured when he was stuck by a car on Shelbourne Road in Dublin 4.

He was treated by emergency services personnel, but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

The body of the dead man has been removed to the City Mortuary, and the coroner has been notified.

Gardaí say Shelbourne Road between Bath Avenue and Lansdowne Road has re-opened after Forensic Collision Investigators attended the scene.
