A funeral service for five members of the Hawe family is taking place in Co Cavan later today.

The bodies were found in their house in Ballyjamesduff on Monday.

A Garda investigation into their deaths is continuing with officers treating the case as a murder-suicide.

Alan and Clodagh Hawe and their three sons Liam (13), Niall (11) and Ryan (6) will be buried together following requiem mass at St Mary's Church in Castlerahan later today.

The remains of the family of five reposed in Cavan Town yesterday, with hundreds of people offering their condolences.

This afternoon's funeral service has been reserved for family, loved ones and parishioners.

A loud speaker will be placed outside the church for others attending the service.
