A cloudy, breezy start. Mainly dry over Ulster and north Leinster at first, but rain elsewhere, heavy at times.
The rain will clear to bright or sunny spells and scattered showers this afternoon, with most of the showers in western areas.

The fresh and gusty southeast winds, will moderate gradually too and become southwesterly.
Cold tonight, with clear spells and showers, with some hail in places and possibly some thunder too.
Lowest temperatures -1 to plus 2 C, in slack breezes, allowing some fog and frost to form and some icy patches too.
