It will be fresh and breezy today with a mixture of sunny spells and showers.
The showers will be most frequent during the morning in the west but will become widespread during the course of the afternoon with the odd thundery downpour possible.
The showers may merge to longer spells of rain at times in the northwest of the country.
Top temperatures of 13C to 16C in fresh and gusty south-westerly winds - strongest along Atlantic coasts.
A few showers persisting overnight but they will become largely confined to Atlantic coastal areas with many places becoming dry and clear.
However, cloud will thicken later across Munster and south Leinster with patchy rain developing towards dawn.
Minimum temperatures of 6C to 10C in fresh south-westerly winds.
