File photo. Image:

Frost and ice clearing this morning with crisp sunshine and just light northwest breezes - just isolated rain or hail showers.

Overall staying dry and bright through the day but cloud will very gradually spill down from the north, with patchy drizzle affecting northern and northwestern areas later.

Another cold day with maxima of 5 to 7 degrees Celsius generally, but 8 or 9 degrees Celsius across Atlantic coastal areas.

Patchy rain and drizzle overnight, most of which will affect northern and western counties.

Lowest temperatures in these parts ranging 1 to 4 degrees Celsius.

Generally dry under broken cloud for the midlands, south and east with frost and ice. Mist and fog in parts too.

Lowest temperatures in these areas ranging a cold -1 to +1 degrees Celsius. Winds will be light northwesterly.
