'This is like something from a concentration camp, but you're talking about cows.'
George couldn't believe the advertisement he saw in the paper on Sunday, as it read: 'Their mothers, still bloody from birth, searched and called frantically for their babies. Their daughters, fresh from their mothers' wombs, but separated from them, trembled and cried piteously, drinking milk from rubber teets on the walls instead of their mothers' nurturing bodies.'
This isn't talking about a human tragedy, but the Eden Farmed Animal Sanctuary talking about why being a vegan is a good idea. Their director Sandra Higgins said: 'This a deeper issue than food. Not all animals are food. Every life is equal regardless of species.'
She believes that eating animals comes from the notion that we can harm someone who is different from ourselves. She told George that 'this is a social justice issue'.
George was not convinced in the slightest.
