An Irish man has died following a stabbing incident in Australia.

It is understood the 30-year-old man received injuries to his neck.

The Department of Foreign Affairs say they are aware of the case and are providing consular assistance.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run that happened in Dublin earlier today.

It is believed that the luggage door of a coach hit three pedestrians - one woman and two men - at Lincoln Place at around 3.10pm this afternoon.

Cork student dies from meningitis

A student at University College Cork (UCC) has died from meningitis. 

In a statement, leading charity Meningitis Research Foundation said they were "saddened" to hear of the death.

"We would like to offer our sincere condolences to her family and friends; our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time."
