Garda Representative Association defers three remaining strike days

The Garda Representative Association (GRA) has deferred three remaining strike days that were planned for this month.

The move comes pending the outcome of a ballot of GRA members on recommendations made by the Labour Court last week.

Full details of the recommendations have also been released on the GRA website, which include a €500 increase in rent allowance, an annual leave premium, and the restoration of rent allowance for new recruits.

Web Summit 2016 is officially underway. The doors opened at 5pm, before CEO and co-founder Paddy Cosgrave took to the stage to welcome attendees to Lisbon at around 6.30pm. 

The event took place at the MEO Arena, Lisbon. This is a purpose built music venue, which will host Web Summit's main stage for the next few days.
