An elderly woman has died in a housefire in Dublin.

The blaze is understood to have taken hold at Ventry Park in Cabra at around 4am this morning.

The woman who died was aged in her 80s, and was the only person in the house at the time.

Her body has been removed to the City Morgue in Marino where a post-mortem will be carried out.

Gardaí say the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
