A number of homes in Dublin had to be evacuated last night due to a bomb scare.

A suspect device was found under a van in the Corduff Grove area of Blanchardstown.

Gardaí were called to the scene of the housing estate at around 8:45pm.

The Army Bomb Disposal Unit were called in later and declared the device non-viable.
