Schools should be armed with rifles says US gun lobby

The NRA have been under pressure to respond to the Sandy Hook shootings

America's most powerful gun lobby has suggested that armed police be deployed to every school in the country.

The National Rifle Association - which has been under pressure to respond to last week's mass shooting in Connecticut - says armed guards could have prevented the killings.

The NRA's Vice President said, "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."

President Obama reiterated calls for the US to tackle the issue.
