A man aged in his 20s has died after a swimming incident in Co Cork yesterday.

He got into difficulty in the water at Ballincollig Regional Park, where he was swimming after 7.00pm yesterday evening.

He was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The gardaí say the coroner has been notified but foul play is not suspected.
