Cork bar owner left partially blind after serious assault

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault that left the owner of a Cork bar blind in one eye.

The assault occurred at Chimes Bar on Church Street in Cork at approximately 10pm on the night of Easter Sunday the 16th of April.

A man in his 50s – the owner of the premises – was taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries following the assault.

He has since been released, having lost his sight in one eye.

Gardaí at Watercourse Road are appealing for anyone who was in the licensed premises on the day of the incident or to any person who can assist with the investigation to come forward.
